In English, we often shorten 'not' to 'n't'. For example: "You 'didn't' close the door." In isiZulu, there is no direct equivalent for 'not'. For options, see the negative forms in Table 5 of the mini-grammar (e.g. a_-SC_VERB_i, a_-SC_VERB_anga, …).
